10,000 KMs

My bullet clocked its first 10,000 KM last week. We went for an early morning ride to Nandi hills to celebrate it. I have been to Nandi hills before but that was during the evening time. The early morning trip was completely different, it was very cold and there was lot of mist. I was surprised to see so many people as a group cycling and walking to the hills during that time.

Here are the photos.

On the way to Nandi Hills

Branches of the same trees which are behind can be seen as faded out, shows the intensity of the mist.

Tavarekere

Tavarekere is very dense area in Bangalore city where I used to live when I was a bachelor. Visited my friends there last weekend and got this beautiful view from their balcony.

I took this photo in my mobile, it would have been more colourful if there was some light on the coconut tree as well (instead of the shadows).

Flow Free

I am not a very fan of Computer or Mobile games, though I used to play NFS & Commandos in PC. Recently came across a mobile puzzle game called Flow Free. Wow its really addictive - Connect matching colors with pipe to create a flow. Pair all colors, and cover the entire board to solve each puzzle. It starts with 5X5 boards till 9X9 boards with 30 levels each. Including bonus levels there are total 300 levels. I started playing it regularly and solved all 300 levels. It was really interesting.

There is also a time trial option in which we need to finish maximum puzzles within a time frame. I have started playing that and managed to solve 7 puzzles in 30 seconds. By this time my wife was already frustrated with me spending all time holding mobile and playing this game. I asked her why you don't you give a try. She too started playing it and as expected become addictive soon. Then starts the competition between us. We were competing for solving the maximum number of puzzles within 30 seconds, where my record was 7.

This picture shows she is trying hard to break my record.

F/1.8, 1/25, ISO 400, -0.7, 35mm No Flash

PS: I have bought the Nikon 35mm 1.8G lens and this picture is taken using that.

Now guess what, she did it, solved 7 puzzles in 30 seconds and started with 8th when it timed out. Now its my turn to raise the bar to 8!!

50mm Prime

Came to know about a place where they are giving lens for rent in Bangalore, Book My Lens. Registered there and rented out the Nikon 50mm Prime first. Wanted to try some outdoor photography, but the rain on weekend forced me to stay indoor with my friend. So we tried some indoor photography and this one came out really good.

Another two of my favs portraits are this one and this one.

I liked the 50mm prime for its bokeh and low light capabilities, will try out the 35mm as well and planning to buy one of them.

Fishing Camp

Team outing to Bheemeshwari Fishing camp, located on the banks of Cauvery river. It was about 100Km from Banglore City towards Kanakpura. We have started on Friday morning from office and reached there by 11. Except the last 10KM, roads were good. But it was very cloudy (as you can see in the photos), not a lucky day for a photographer. The river was also dry, the best time to visit this place is supposed to be after the monsoon. Anyway on the way back to Bangalore we have seen one of the strongest rainy night in this season.

After reading the book "Art of Photography" (recommended by my fav Ken Rockwell) I am coming up with more black and white photos. Ironically Rockwell always interested in very colorful photos and his recommended book is more biased towards B&W photos. Anyway the cloudy sky & dry weather didn't give me any warm & colorful photos, so I didn't have any other option.

And about the fishing, we didn't get anything (didn't even tried). Be it at Tang or Bheemeshwari, fishing is not seems to be my cup of tea.
